I offer a polishing service for both regular and trade customers, and can get your favourite watch looking shiny and new.
Polishing will usually be carried out alongside a full service as it is slightly more economical this way. At a minimum it requires case stripping before polish, and afterwards washing and seals.
This image shows a Breitling watch case that has been dismantled and partially wrapped in protective tape before being worked on.
A bad polish can ruin a watch so I will take care to apply what, if anything, is appropriate, using a combination of hand sanding and filing, and machine.
This image shows a Rolex Submariner with nice flat polished sides, and an excellently maintained sharp edge. This is edge is hand filed as opposed to machine polishing which would lead to inappropriate ugly rounding.
I also offer bracelet refurbishment, or "re-pin”. Over time certain watch bracelets can become worn and stretched, and these pins can be removed and replaced.
This image shows a very worn bracelet that has really been left too long; the pins are almost worn through.
Worn and weak pins will snap upon removal, and then require drilling out which is a lot more costly. Fixing in good time is really recommended here.
These pins had almost nothing left.
This last image shows the above stretched bracelet being polished after extensive drilling and re-pin. It did turn out nice in the end.
